Lesson 1: Peaceable People

Research shows that enabling children to view themselves as capable of solving social problems is one of the most significant aspects of violence prevention. This lesson is designed to help children appreciate their own capacity for solving conflicts.

The Students will be able to:

• Define peace and conflict.

• Discuss conflict as a normal and natural part of being human

• Recognize his or her capacity to learn and use skills for solving conflicts.
